Serenity came to us when she was 3 years old. She was underweight and traumatized from her past. Sadly, she was a bait dog. When the rescue had gotten her, she was bruised and quite literally broken. She had likely suffered many bite wounds in her past as well. She was lucky not to have any infected sores. She had several fractured ribs and a fracture in one of her forelegs. All of these healed with time and treatment, but the behavior of her previous owner made Serenity very nervous of other dogs. She didn't have the will to fight, so her owner had used her as a bait dog and figured if nothing else, she'll be good for that.
The rescue named her Serenity due to her calm nature, given all that she had been through. Unfortunately she did not have the joys of living a full life.
